Centroid CNC control sales, service, training and support
I provide telephone and e-mail tech support to all Centroid control users on a time-and-expenses basis. My rate for this type of service is $60/hr, with a one hour minimum per incident.
I do not charge for the first five minutes, and I do not charge without first notifying you. Do not hesitate to call or e-mail with questions.
I provide a reasonable amount of no-charge technical support for my own customers (those who bought machines or controls from me), and for those who have hired me for a full day training session or control software upgrade.
I also provide on-site troubleshooting and repairs. My rate for on-site service is $90/hr, with a two hour minimum. I bill travel time to and from your site at $60/hr plus mileage and expenses.

When calling or e-mailing with questions, please provide a reasonable amount of background information.
Let me know the nature of the problem; how frequently it happens; what error messages are displayed in the status window; etc..
If possible, let me know your control serial number and your software version. If possible, e-mail me "Report" files off of your control, so I can see your parameter settings and configuration. If the question is program-related ("why doesn't this program work the way I want it to?"), then send me copies of the G code and conversational program files as well.
On most controls, it is on silver serial number tags, both on the door of your electrical cabinet and on the side or back of your console or hand pendant.
Some board-level M39 and T39 installations have neither a factory cabinet nor a serial-numbered pendant. Also, Revolution controls and Magnum/Phoenix routers generally did not have Centroid serial number markings. Look for notes that the dealer or an earlier service tech may have made on the interior of the cabinet; on the wiring schematic; or on the cover page of the operator's manual. If you have a page of software unlock codes from Centroid, the control serial number will usually be listed at the top of the page.

In all recent software versions (1996 - present), the software version number is displayed on the Setup screen, which you can get to by pressing the F1 key. If you have a DOS-based control, the control software is called CNC7, and the version is probably between 5.10 and 8.23. If you have a Linux-based control, the control software is called CNC10, and the version is between 1.00 and 2.73. If you have a Windows-based control, the control software is called CNC11 or CNC12, and the version is between 3.04 and 4.20.
In earlier DOS software (1994-1995) the CNC7 software version was not displayed on the Setup screen, but was displayed on the Utility menu, which you can get to by pressing the F7 key.
In the oldest DOS software (1992-1994) the CNC7 software version was displayed on the Utility menu, but you have to press Alt-D to get there. The version may also be displayed above the status information on the right side of the control screen.
In short, you either insert a floppy disk or plug in a USB drive; Press F7 for the Utility menu; and press F7 for Report.
If you have DOS CNC7 software earlier than version 6.00, you will not have the Report option on the Utility menu. Use F3/Backup, F1/CFG instead.
